About Carolyn

I studied French language and culture for 10 years, starting in middle school. I studied abroad in Belgium for a semester in 2019, then studied in France from 2021-2022. I graduated with a bachelor’s of science in business administration with a minor in French along side a certificate of immersion.

I enjoyed teaching and learning French to others, and helped improve myself own skills as well. It will help to speak to one another in French to practice understanding hearing and speaking the language.

I can travel as needed or we can work remotely together.

In high school, I was a volunteer French tutor for those just starting out. It was for the French National Honor's Society.

I was a tutor for a year in high school, but have tutored for friends outside of that.

About the lesson

I would talk to the student and see what they know and review with them better ways to study what they know and practice with them on their spoken language and help them understand where improvements are needed.

I have worked with all types, as there are a lot of similarities in the different skillsets in learning a language. Some had difficulties understanding grammar, some had difficulties with pronunciation, some had difficulties hearing.

Don’t look towards me to give you the answer to everything, I’m here to help you improve your skills as a language learner.

Students should think about where their weaknesses lie - it’s okay to not be strong in any area because it just means there’s more to improve on
