About Ong

I have a strong academic background from a Chinese primary school and Chinese Independent School, which allows me to understand the SJKC syllabus and Mandarin learning system well.

I have experience teaching in a primary school tuition center, where I guided students in their daily schoolwork as well as one-to-one sessions. This has helped me develop patience and the ability to explain concepts in a clear and simple way.

I have also guided a student in IGCSE Foreign Language Mandarin, focusing on identifying weaknesses and improving performance through targeted practice.
I enjoy teaching because I find it meaningful to help students understand concepts clearly and improve efficiently, especially when they gain confidence and see real progress.

I aim to provide structured, practical lessons that are adapted to each student’s level and needs.

About the lesson

I offer lessons for Mandarin, as well as primary school Mathematics and Science (SJKC syllabus), and IGCSE Foreign Language Mandarin.

My teaching approach is structured and targeted. I will first assess the student’s level to identify specific weaknesses, such as vocabulary, understanding, grammar, or answering techniques, and tailor lessons accordingly.

For students with weaker foundations, I focus on building strong basics step by step. For exam-oriented students, I emphasize efficient learning by focusing on key topics, common question types, and answering strategies to help improve results within a shorter period of time.

Lessons typically include explanation, guided practice, and correction, so students not only understand the concepts but also learn how to apply them effectively in exams.

For primary school Mathematics and Science, I am familiar with the SJKC syllabus and can teach in Chinese to ensure clearer understanding of key concepts.

I am patient and approachable, and I encourage students to ask questions so that difficulties can be addressed clearly and effectively.
