About Ethel
I have always been passionate about teaching and kids, I have always loved how excited they get whenever they finally get a question right or grasp a concept. I always make it a point to be able to connect with my student, rather than just spoon feeding them information all the time. I take my time in helping them understand a topic instead of forcing them to receive an overload of information. I love being able to help students improve their weak points and work towards a goal as it always feels nice being able to finally understand something that you always were confused by. I'm patient and genuinely interested in helping my student thrive.

During my lessons, I like to include fun in learning. For many students, they find spelling difficult to grasp – so I like to make up a silly little acronym or rhyme to help them remember. I also like breaking down difficult words and explaining it to them in simple terms.
Lesson typically ranges from 2 hours to 3 hours, depending on whichever you prefer. I have experience in teaching students in secondary school level. I have taught Australian International School Syllabus and IGCSE. I have also done the IGCSE English as first language and English literature syllabus myself and scored well. During a lesson, I would go through any concepts that the student is yet to fully understand or grasp before letting them do some exercises to ensure that they completely can understand it well. If they make any mistakes, I will then go through it with them and explain where they went wrong until they understand and can do a similar question with no mistakes. I am also a law graduate and therefore my understanding of the language is pretty strong.
