About Chelsea

Need help with a tricky part in your band music? Want a high chair in the All State orchestra? Just learning flute it piccolo for fun? I'd love to help with any of those goals! I have 20 years of flute performance experience and 10 years of teaching experience. I have taught students of all ages and abilities. I have consistently ranked among the highest flute performers in NC, performed as a soloist, won several distinguished competitions, led flute choirs, and earned a music degree after receiving a full music scholarship. Whatever your goals are, I can help!

I began teaching when I was in high school. I taught middle school students and helped prepare them for all county band auditions.

I have been playing flute since 8 years old and was trained by three very accomplished musicians. I participated in school ensembles, youth symphonies, and a professional wind symphony. I went to college on a full music scholarship and earned my Bachelor's degree in music.

About the lesson

My first step is to hear what your goals are. I want to make sure our time together is purposeful for you. Second, I like to hear you play (even if you haven't been able to make a sound yet). This helps me understand what should be covered in lessons first. My teaching style is student-focused, so I can be fast paced or easy going depending on your goals.

I have worked with students ranging from 5 years old to 95 years old. My students have also ranged in skill level from beginner to advanced.

My advice would be to find a teacher who cares about your goals and will tailor their teaching around that.

For in person lessons, I charge $30 for 30 mins or $50 for 1 hour. For virtual lessons, you receive $10 off my in person price.
