About Stephanie
I make it a point to customize learning plans to each student based on how he/she learns, and what his/her personal and musical goals are. Every student is different, and I strive to help all students reach their goals.
The best part of teaching on an individual basis is that I really get to know each student. I learn their strengths and weaknesses, their likes and dislikes. Developing personal relationships with students is a crucial part of private instruction.
I started through my passion for playing music. Wanting to pursue a career in music, I realized how difficult it would be to play music professionally. While studying music education, I discovered a passion for teaching that I have carried on to my current profession.
I graduated with honors in music eduation from the University of Tennessee. During that time, I taught several students in both an individual, sectional, and ensemble setting.

Every new student receives a complimentary 30 minute introductory lesson. During this time, I assess the student's skill through scales and duets. I will also take this time to discuss personal and musical goals with the student.
I have worked with students K-12 on an invidual, small group, and large ensemble setting.
Hire someone that knows what you want. Some students want to play music for fun, some want to compete, and some want to be a professional. Make sure potential teachers are aware of your personal goals and have the resources to help you achieve them.
I enjoy participating in the alumni band every year at the University of Tennessee. It's a great way to catch up with old friends, play music, and march in Neyland Stadium again.

My standard rates are $40 per hour and $20 per half hour, depending on how far I have to travel.
