About Lisa

With over 20 years in the fashion industry, I have a great deal of knowledge to share!

I have successfully been involved in all levels of product development and understand how to stay competitive in an industry that is in demand!

I love to see young designers develop their talents and their understanding of the business... talent is great but it takes so much more to be successful in fashion.

Whenever I had to hire a new associate designer or graphic artist I realized that so many young designers graduated school with no real understanding of how the industry worked. The students who always stood out were the ones who had been mentored and who came into an interview with a strong portfolio, clear resume and who asked the right questions! I realized I could help some of the students who did not have a mentoring opportunity and I really enjoyed seeing them succeed!

I have over 20 years experience in the fashion industry which include shopping both domestically and overseas, print design, developing a sample line, creating look books, communications with overseas factories, working with a production team, generating POMs etc..

I have also been involved in sales meetings, directed graphic artists and associate designers and have worked in multiple product categories in the industry as well as branded and private label products.

About the lesson

The first step is to do a phone consult to assess the goals of the training. Since each student is looking for something different it is important to fully understand the strengths and weaknesses as well as specific goals in order to develop personalized lesson plans.

The majority of my students have been those in their senior year who are looking for an internship and those who have recently graduated.

I have also trained some students who wanted to get a better job but were uncertain how to improve their skill set.

I have trained both fashion designers and graphic/ print designers as well.

Look for someone who sincerely wants to see you succeed and who is willing to set goals at the start of your training. These goals may change along the way and that’s great too! You also want a trainer that you feel connected to and who enjoys what they do!

Pricing is $50 per a one hour session with a 10% discount given for a pre-booking of 5 or more consecutive lessons.
