About Greg

Students of Greg's Writers Workshop will meet a 16 year Master of Divinity, and a BA in Humanities. I won grading assistant status both of my degrees. Since I was so long in my work, I'm very comfortable working one-on-one with students.

Since all of his degrees are in Humanities, that meant writing lots and early. During his Bachelor's he worked as a reference librarian and as an Executive secretary.

He would help the Essay students learn a heuristic process to learn and proceed from question to answer. Heuristic essays are the best essays because the mehod proceeds out of a socratic dialogic style.

He would help the Expository students by giving them work from the New Bedford Reader. In my opinion, it's the best of its kind

He would modularize so each student only works on the areas they need.

He spent 6 years in the Air Force Intelligence service. With a brief exception I have been in electronics and computers achieving an A+ certification, a Microsoft certification, and the gold standard CISSP security certification. While in the military he won the Silver Medal from the Intelligence Command's Comfy Olympics. It an academic competition among specialty codes. He won his local group's National Math Test in his senior year. It was the highest score in the city to that date. He is an active member of MENSA the Higj I.Q. Society.

I was Music Minister at nearly every church we attended for 17 years.

My experience is so wide and varied, I believe I can help students' interest in any area.

About the lesson

I like to spend the first bit getting to know them, but I also want them to get some learning so they don't feel they've paid for a session just to talk.

Youth through adults.

Check to see their "resume" is reliable.

Qualifying for MENSA. Since I'll probably never achieve a dreamed of PhD--it's vindicating and affirming.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The student is wise to have tried to work the difficulty sufficiently that they have specific questions. "I just don't understand!" doesn't give the teacher much to go on.
