About Elise

Passion is the number one difference between me and other tutors. I tutor in areas of study that I never stop exploring, myself. I appreciate dynamic discussion and believe that learning is a mutual experience.

I absolutely love fostering a passion for knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of subjects and interests. I truly admire students who when faced with a challenge, seek help to fully grasp a concept or material in general. It is greatly rewarding when a student truly understands a subject, but even more so when a student is willing to listen and learn about multiple perspectives within a topic.

I am currently studying History, Anthropology, and Literature at Eastern Michigan University as an Honors student. I have recent and first-hand knowledge of the topics covered in various subjects such as high school level history, social studies, English language arts, psychology, and astronomy. I can also offer assistance with AP Literature and AP Psychology test preparation.

About the lesson

I always want to ensure a student is getting the assistance that they may need. I begin by asking what specific topics and/or assignments the student would like my help studying, learning, or completing. I believe in a one-on-one discussion of the topics and material before assignments are completed. Once the student grasps the topic and material I love answering assignment-specific questions to ensure success.

I would advise students to choose a tutor with whom they can have a discussion and feel comfortable conversing. It is also important to choose a tutor who can offer a dynamic and passionate session about a topic—it makes the material more interesting and in turn, easier to grasp.
