About Ashley
It gives me the opportunity to enrich my education while helping others learn. It's mutual beneficial service.
I enjoy being able to do work that helps others. Many jobs allow people to assist others, both directly and indirectly. Firefighters save people in burning buildings, janitors keep the facilities we often occupy clean, cashiers enable the transactions that ultimately support our economy. As a tutor, I have the benefit of witnessing my impact on others. I am able to watch a student learn and know that I made a difference (however small!) in their lives.
I'm still pursuing my education! My affinity for writing throughout my childhood compelled me to commit to studying both English and Communication at the University of California, Santa Barbara. As a freshman, I still have a lot to learn, but I am happy to use my skills, as well as the knowledge I have already accumulated, to help others be successful in their personal educational pursuits.

Since my strength is writing, I'll usually take a look at some samples of a student's work to identify their weaknesses, and then I'll incorporate addressing those weaknesses into every lesson. Lessons may also include helping a student complete school work, answering any questions they may have, and building a professional relationship with them that will facilitate effective learning.
