About Julia
Hello, My name is Julia Pickett. I graduated Magna Cum Laud from Rider University in December 2019 with a degree in Political Science. I am highly proficient in reading, writing, history, politics and government, and public speaking. Currently, I study law at Rutgers Law School and have experience tutoring college-aged students in Public speaking and Politics and elementary school-age students in Reading and Phonics. Before the Covid-19 Pandemic, I worked at Kumon Learning Center as an early reading teacher for students aged 3- 6.
I have always liked teaching people new skills and facts that I would learn, even from an early age. Growing up I would watch my brother who has autism and teach him basic skills that are important to day life. In college, I was a tutor for the political science department and helped freshman learn study skills and fundamental aspects of government and politics. While at Kumon Learning Center I was able to extend my teaching abilities to young students and help them flourish in their reading abilities.
I was a tutor for the political science department while in college at Rider University.
I also worked at Kumon Learning Center as a Early Reading teacher for students aged 3-6
