About Rhonda
Dear parents, grandparents, friends, and teachers:
Like so many parents, my children struggled with reading -- and finding the right reading program to help them was difficult. In 2001, I discovered Read Right methodology developed by Dr. Dee Tadlock, an expert in both learning theory and reading.
I learned from her that most reading problems are LEARNED and not the result of brain deficits. I was so fascinated with her theory that I dedicated my Masters in Public Administration degree to a study of education policies and practices related to reading instruction. What I learned from that multi-year journey is that U.S. instructional practices for reading contribute significantly to the struggles MOST children and teens experience with reading.
Read Right tutors use the right individualized strategies to help each struggling reader build a new neural network specifically for reading excellence. By "excellence" Read Right means: the reader always accurately comprehends what they are reading, recognizes when they need to figure out the meaning of new vocabulary, and always reads aloud as naturally as they speak.
The process begins with a brief consultation to identify your student's optimum reading range. If the student is a non-reader, we'll assess for basic phonics knowledge. During the consultation your student will be introduced to Read Right's core instructional strategy. You are welcome to observe throughout.
Read Right methodology helped both of my children become successful readers when they were teens. Now, my oldest has a six-year-old son. Our whole family used Dr. Tadlock's methods for early reading development to help my grandson become a reader. He started kindergarten reading at a Grade 1 level. Now 6, his favorite books to read are Grade 2/3 science-related books. He loves to learn new vocabulary!

STEP 1: Consultation. Dr. Dee Tadlock will assess the student and determine optimum functional oral reading level and introduce the two Read Right core sTrategies--cost: $100 (significantly less than the $300 to $500 other experts charge).
STEP 2: Decision. You'll decide after the consultation if you feel Read Right methodology is a good fit with your student.
STEP 3: Schedule tutoring and choose materials. Each 55-minute tutoring session costs $35. You'll also choose materials -- electronic or printed books. The only materials we use are actual stories and books. Fees differ for the two services.
