About Tiffany
I'm a community college professor who adopts unconventional teaching methods (interactive activites, maieutic method, combining arts & sciences, etc.) to guide students towards their academic/life goals.
I love learning with my students. While I offer students tools to improve written and oral communication, my students constantly teach me something new about the world we live in.
I was accepted into the graduate teaching program in 2015, and began teaching public speaking courses at California State University, Northridge.
I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Communication Studies. Currently, I teach Communications courses, like Public Speaking and Argumentation/Debate at several community colleges in the Los Angeles district. My past experiences include speech and debate coaching and English composition tutoring.

First, I gather information from the student about he/she/their tutoring needs and goals along with the student's learning style(s). Then, I formulate a series of lesson plans that are aimed at guiding the student to his/her/their goals. Once I formulate the plan, I share it with the student, as I believe that students need to be in control of their education.
Since I teach at community colleges and have taught at a California State University, my students are typically young adults with wide ranging backgrounds--many were international students.
I have a different teaching style than most traditional educators. Students who gravitate towards my teaching are curious individuals who enjoy exploring unconventional ways of learning.
Students should seek out a tutor who will accommodate to their learning style. Additionally, students should look for an educator who values their perspectives and life experiences. Unfortunately, students are often treated as robots that should be programmed to think, speak, or act a certain way. We are people, and people are complex! A good educator recognizes each students' individuality and offers them tools to pursue their endeavors.
