I'm an expert in the field of English. I have secondary expertise in History.
I'm also an award-winning educator of English and Certified Life Coach with over a decade of experience working with young people. I've coached, taught, advised, and mentored teens and college students from diverse backgrounds.
This is what I know: connection is everything.
When I interact with students, I make sure that they feel listened to and cared for. Students are more likely to receive direction, instruction, and feedback when they are certain the adult working with them has their best interest at heart, empathizes with their perspective, and can see their strengths. I believe in this philosophy and apply this individualized approach with every student.
At the same time, I hold students to excellent standards. I challenge gently as much as I validate.
