About Lindsay

I'm a college junior majoring in psychology, but have been taking psychology courses since high school. Psychology is also closely intertwined with English in my program, so I've had experience in both fields for years. I've never gotten below an A- in any of my psychology or English courses, and I love helping others find excitement and enjoyment in both areas.

Helping a student achieve a breakthrough in a topic they're truly struggling with provides such a sense of joy for me, I absolutely love helping others. Psychology has always been a huge passion for me, and is what I plan to do as a profession once I graduate. I hope to help others find what they love.

I informally tutored in psychology and English through high school and my freshman year of college, so I started formally tutoring on my own at the end of my freshman year.

I am currently a psychology major in my junior year, but have taken AP Psych, AP English Literature, and AP English Language in my high school career. I've also taken quite a number of English courses in college, so I feel confident in providing extracurricular education in that area as well.

About the lesson

I'd like to talk to them for a bit about the level of education they're in (elementary, middle, etc.), and what they're expecting out of our relationship. This could be done over phone or email, I'm not picky. Then I like to dive right into tutoring and helping with exactly what they need.

I've generally worked with kids my own age (I am currently 21), but also worked with children in middle school that I connected with during my high school musicals. I've briefly helped with algebra I and below, but mainly stick to English and psychology.

Hiring college students honestly may be your best bet, depending on your level of education. We are currently in the process of learning, as are you, and are most likely more recently exposed to the breadth of topics taught in classes than professionals working in a specific field.
