About Keaton
I recently graduated from The George Washington University with a Master's degree in Applied Economics. I have a Bachelor's degree in Economics with minors in Business Administration and Politics. I have experience working at the US Small Business Administration, Federal Reserve Board, International Trade Administration, and the US State Department.
In undergrad, I was the president and founder of the Economics Club that offered tutoring to other Economics students. In 2018, I recieved the Economics Major of the Year award.
I began tutoring in college through the Economics Club. I tutored fellow college students.
I have a Master's degree in Applied Economics and have experience working with various government agencies. In addition to my academic experience, I was a nanny for 4 years throughout college and feel very comfortable with elementary to high school age students.

I first get to know the student so they feel comfortable with me. I do this by asking about sports, hobbies, favorite subjects in school, etc. I then tell them about myself. Once the student feels comfortable speaking with me, I like to know about their strengths in the topic we are working on and what about the topic they enjoy. If I feel a student is getting frustrated or having a difficult time grasping a subject, I move on and either return later that session or the next session- otherwise the student will shut down and not be eager to continue the session. I am a big believer in encouraging students and not putting them down for not understanding something. I want them to see Economics as a fun and interesting field instead of a chore to learn.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I will ask each student what their strengths are in the topic we are focusing on. They are welcome to create a list beforehand of their strengths and what they want to focus on.
