About Lucas

Being a former high school graduate and current college graduate, I understand the struggles students deal with on a daily basis. I've lived through, and understand how challenging work from certain classes can be, especially when you have to balance your time between school and extracurriculars. My mission is to help students understand and absorb the information in the classes they are struggling in. I am a student-athlete, so I know how difficult it can be to time manage, and that's why I am here.

I am a player on the "National Champions" St. Bonaventure Rugby team

I started tutoring my friends and family as soon as I was able to manage my time correctly. I had to make sure I was in a good place academically and athletically before I opened the door for tutoring. I started around the end of my Sophomore year in high school. I would often tutor my friends that had certain classes I already took and members of my family like cousins and siblings.

Academics

I am a high school graduate and currently attend St. Bonaventure University. I am a student-athlete who has been through the challenges high school and college has to offer. I had to learn the conepts of time management and juggling the work load from multiple classes, generally early in my career. I had to juggle sports, multiple class workload, off the field training, and time with family, so I understand how difficult it can be to juggle these obligations.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, I typically like to get a baseline of where that student is at in their subject of need. When I first meet the student I talk to them about where they think they need help and what they are learning at the moment. After this, I will generally ask a few questions pertaining to the subject they need help in, just so I can understand how much knowledge they have on the subject already.

I have worked with students age 10-18, but welcome working with a student of any age group.

It is always great to hire a tutor with many years of experience and somebody with a good amount of accomplishments/accolades, but my advice would be to look for somebody who has been in your position and somebody who has lived through and succeeded in the struggles you are currently going through, in anything.

It all depends on the subject and how far I would have to travel in order to do in-person tutoring. Prices will most likely be discussed upon agreement for tutoring.
