Bren showed me how to really play the bass. I came to Bren when I was 50 and had no previous experience on the double bass. Now I'm playing out regularly, better yet I'm still learning and getting better. Bren's method, patience and knowledge (whew!) continue to inspire me. He's gotten me to the point of being accepted in the Centrum/Port Townsend Jazz clinic under John Clayton and I will be studying w/Gary Smulyan, Wycliffe Gordon and Terrell Stafford. Awesome!

Bren is not just "winging it" or on "automatic" when he teaches. He tailors his lessons to his student's individual needs, and knows how to zero in on what you are having trouble with. His patience, great sense of humor, teaching style, and enormous knowledge about all types of music make him invaluable as a teacher......from basic beginner to experienced player.
