About Dante
I believe in the power of music to inspire joy, human connection, and positive change. My goal as a bass teacher is to help beginner to advanced students develop their musical skills, with an emphasis on nurturing lasting love of music and good practice habits. I work with students to build a strong technical foundation on the instrument, preparing them for school orchestra and/or music-related extracurriculars.
I hold a Master of Music degree from The Colburn School, where I studied with Peter Lloyd, former principal bass of the Minnesota Orchestra. Previous to this, I completed a BM in double bass performance along with a BA in neuroscience and a minor in leadership studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder. I am currently pursuing a second masters degree in orcehstral performance from Manhattan School of Music, where I study with Timothy Cobb, principal bass of the New York Philharmonic.
I hold a MM from the Colburn School in Los Angeles, and a BM in bass performance and BA in neuroscience from the University of Colorado, Boulder. I am pursuing a second masters degree from Manhattan School of Music.
For several years I have worked as a professional double bassist, playing with ensembles around the country.

During the first couple lessons with a new student I will gauge their ability level on the bass. From here, I take a highly indiviualized approach with each student based on their needs and goals. Right away, I like to work with students to develop a consistent routine for effective at-home practicing. Pedagocially, I use a hybrid approach and draw from many schools of bass playing.

I charge $60 for 1 hour lessons, and $35 for half hour lessons.
