About AERO

We offer pole, dance & flexibility classes, private lessons and a 24/7 pole practice studio. The AERO Space is the only pole fitness studio in Oregon with two separate pole rooms and the only studio in Portland that offers members unlimited access to a fully-equipped practice space available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for a nominal monthly fee. Our mission statement is "to foster empowerment through movement education" and to that end, we offer a wide variety of classes & trainings that are intelligent, informed and fun. Our professionally trained instructors are the most experienced teachers you'll find at any studio in Portland and together they boast an aggregate of over 20 years of pole dance and pole fitness instruction experience. We pride ourselves on offering the highest level of safe and professional instruction in Oregon and we work hard to create an atmosphere of positivity, open-mindedness, and respectfulness in our classes and in our studio. We aim to give you the freedom to express yourself however you want, whenever you want.

All of our instructors were students before they were teaching... we each fell in love with pole and decided we wanted to share our passion with others and went through the training to be able to do so safely and effectively.

All of our instructors have undergone rigorous training in safety and spotting as well as teaching methodology. They are professionals with a passion for pole.

About the lesson

Students can come in for small group classes (8 students or less) or private lessons. We always offer beginning level courses with new series starting once every couple of weeks. Students new to pole can enroll in a Taster, an Intro to Pole course or a Level I. Level I does not require completion of either a Taster or Intro to Pole -- if you're excited about trying it, you can just jump right in!

We have had all kinds! Women and men, physically fit and disabled, tall, short, young, old... all of them! :)

Make sure the studio you choose has proper safety equipment (crash mats are a must) and that their instructors have been trained and are not just some people who decided to start teaching without any knowledge of anatomy or exercise science. There are a lot of people who think that because they can pole dance, they are qualified to teach and this just isn't the case. Pole is a highly demanding sport that requires a thorough understanding of body mechanics, physics, human anatomy and physiology and alignment to keep students safe.
