About Laurel
My name is Laurel Allen and I run a small boutique dance studio. Our values are growth, expression and mastery. I have small and very personalized classes to help each child and/or adult acheive thier goals, whatever they may be. I have been teaching for 25 years and was a professional ballerina for 5 years, dancing for the Cleveland Ballet Company.
I put my heart and soul into teaching kids and adults the art form that I love so much. Dancing allows for expession and passion and keeps your body in great shape, too! I enjoy giving my students a challenge and a goal to work towards. Ballet is my speciality and where I find the most challenge and the most reward.
I have been dancing and training with professionals and former professionals for the last 30+ years. I trained at the Rochester School of Dance, Cleveland Ballet, School of Amercan Ballet and the Royal Ballet School in London, UK. I danced professionally. I am always learning from my peers to better my skills as a teacher.

I do an assesment to see where thier skill level is at and then place them in the class that will offer them enough of a challenge, without being too hard. I want my students challenged and not discouraged. I give as much personal attention to each student as I possibly can. I like to know thier strengths and weaknesses as much as they know them.
I have worked with the brand new dancer to professionals.
Look for someone who gives you personal attention and corrections.
