About Tara
Hi! I am a professional dancer, dance educator, and dance scientist! I dance professionally for a contemporary dance company in MT and have more than 11 years of pro performance experience and more than 15 years teaching experience. Dance has been a lifelong study & passion, I love connected people to their bodies & movement capabilites. Being from a small town in Idaho, I know what it's like to not have access to quality dance training, so I am overjoyed to be able to provide it to students in MT and beyond!
I have a BSc Dance from the University of Idaho, as well as an MSc Dance Science from City University of London (Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance). Dance science is exercise science that is dance-specific. I offer classes or private lessons in: ballet, pointe, pre-pointe, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip hop, & break dance to all ages.
As a dance scientist, I strive to integrate the latest research, these services include: Individual injury assessments customised to each student to assess injury risk or physical pain complaints, a Peak Performance Package that assists in individual goals, such as increasing strength, flexibility, balance, and jump height or a combo of these elements. Other services include: Dance Choreography (competition, solos, small groups, large groups), Dance Career Advice for aspiring pre-professionals, Returning to Dance After Injury advice & programs, Injury Prevention Workshops, Dance Psychology Assessments for common issues such as body image, disordered eating, burnout, perfectionism, etc.
Any dance goal you have, I can help you acheive in a progressive, scientifically-based program that is just for you!

I love helping students with elements they have struggled with, I love the moment something feels good and connected, I love music, I love helping others be healthy, safe, and integrated to their inner selves, whether their goals are professional or recreational. Dance is a joyous expression that can heal and transform.

Individual Programs typically last for minimum of 6 weeks of 1-2 sessions/week (Pricing varies. Typically $300-$800)
Choreography: Solos $500, Duet/Trio/Sm Group $450, Group $150/min of choreo (e.g. 3 min piece=$450)
Postural Assessment: $50/session
Career Advice: $35/session
