About Nikolai

I started to dance at the age of 6 in school in Russia, and after winning many regional titles I was invited to move to the United States in 2012. I had been teaching in Russia as a teenager, as is normal to teach the levels below you in the club, and I have been teaching ever since!

I have been trained by world professionals since I was 6 years old. I have had teachers such as Eugene Katsevman, Bryan Watson, Hans Galke, Klaus Kongstal, Lene James, and many many more. I've also been invited to give lectures and group classes in Stanford and UC Berkley on a ballroom and latin dancing.

About the lesson

There is never a typical process when teaching dancing! As every new student has different goals, and ways of learning. We first learn the basic steps and then continue on at a pace that is comfortable to you and your learning style!

I've worked with a vast variety of students, of all different levels! I run classes for kids, as well as private lessons for competitive children and teens. I have a lot of social dancers, who enjoy dancing at parties and events, as well as highly competitive pro-am students and couples! With dancing, teaching at any level is enjoyable!

Always check out the background of the dancer/teacher. Some teachers can write a great intro biography, but remember you're wanting lessons in dancing not intro/biography writing.

Besides my competitive career, constant learning and improving my own skills and knowledge, my students are my project. My job is to make the dancer as good as they can be!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The best questions to ask yourself before contacting a dance teacher is "what would I like to get from the lesson." Once you're clear with your goals, it's easier to create the process to achieve them! Would you like to learn new steps? Technique? Specific choreography? Having a clear idea will help both you and your teacher to have a great time!

Besides sincle lesson option I have many different lesson packages available, depending on your dancing goals and budgets! The pricing range for lessons is between $90 and $120, the price will depend on frequency of lessons.
