About Lain

I am a retired dancer now coaching dancers in technique and performance building for dancers building a pre-professional career. In addition, I am coaching dancers interested in performing at a competitive level as soloist as well as joining a competitive traveling team. Dancers training with me will be trained in classical ballet and pointe technique as well as jazz, tap, acro, lyrical, and contemporary. I look to train professinal individuals both in dance and in life with an appreciation of all forms of art.

In addition to privates, I also run a competitive team based out of Wheaton IL. Dancers compete throughout Illinois and travel to different conventions and national competitions out of state. Dancers have the opportunity to be part of a strong team and perform in both groups, solos, and duo/trios. Feel free to contact me for audition info!

I have been teaching and coaching dancers and performers for 10 years. I enjoy what I do as I get to see my dancers grow into strong and independent individuals who are kind to one and other and confident in themselves. Through dance I have seen dancers grow confidence and a sense of empowerment they can take with them where ever their professional lives take them.

I started teaching my starting private lessons with a child wanting to learn how to compete as a soloist and needed extra time and help trying to learn with her dyslexia. Since then I fell in love with teaching and moved on to teach classes for multiple studios and start training dancers to compete, which has lead me to start developing my own competitive team.

I have a bachelors degree in psychology and have been teaching dance for ten years. I am currently a established competitive coach and gaining my certification in progressing ballet technique. In addition, I have established a pre professional competitive team of dancers who attend regional and national competitions as well as conventions to meet current industry professionals from all over the country. Dance company members have the opportunity to be part of a strong team performing in groups, solos, and duo/trios all over the state and country.

I have been dancing for over 20 years and danced professionally with Joffery ballet before an injury ended my professional dancing early, but I now strive to bring that experience to the next generation of dancers. I have trained with Faubourg ballet, Joffery's pre professional program, and competed reginally and nationally in Illinois, Wisconsin, and New York.

My dancers are reginal and national title champions competiting in groups, duo/trios, and solos in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical,contemporarry, and tap numbers.

About the lesson

A new student would be introduced via a private lesson so parents and dancer and myself may get better aquainted and to see a good class level placement.

I have worked with students aged 2-18 as well as adult students. I also teach classes for dancers with special needs both learning and physical.

I teach dancers beginning to advanced who dance recreationally up to preprofessionally.

Take your time and really be sure you know what you are after in dance and always follow what your passionate about.

Rencently I took a group of dancers to a national competition where we won the most entertaining number award. I enjoyed this event because it was a three day event filled with dance and people who all share the same passion.

Details

My hourly rate is $40, but for dancers interested in joining my competition team and have a talent manager I charge a semester rate.

Competition fees range based on the competition we are attending.
