About Jillian

I love working with students who have a desire to learn and grow! Watching someone master their sense of self-confidence or effortlessly execute proper technique after lots of hard work is my favorite part of being a dance teacher.

I have been studying dance and performing since 1988, and have taught thousands of students around the United States. My favorite aspect of teaching is working directly with dancers and helping them achieve their dance goals, whether it's mastering a tricky step or performing for hundreds.

I own a small dance studio in northern Michigan -(concealed information) I'm an independently contracted competition judge with Impct Dance Adjudicators. I've performed at Disney, and in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I've choreographed award winning pieces for hundreds of contemporary and jazz students. Dance is my first and best language!

I actually began as a cheerleading coach for a city youth recreational league when I was 14. I've been teaching or coaching ever since.

I began studying dance at the age of 2. I've taken classes from the most notable names in our present history of dance: Frank Hatchett, Dennis Caspery, Wade Robson, Tyce Diorio, Travis Wall, Allison Holker. I've also received my bachelors degree in Dance from Michigan State University.

About the lesson

I like to chat first about what their goals are. Then I develop a personalized plan to help scaffold their lessons to achieve that goal. We can continually shift what goal we're working on, to continue to push the students progress forward.
