About BRANDON

I began teaching as a lead tutor for freshman mathematics at my high school's after school assistance program during my senior year. The next year, after my first year in college, I returned home to teach mathematics and dance for the summer program for the Upward Bound program I graduated from. From then on, I continued teaching dance for studios and in-school arts program, and I have coached and directed youth ensembles and dance teams.

In addition to being an Illinois-certified educator, I have taught for nearly 10 years--7 of those years I have taught dance alongside general education subjects.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, the first and most important thing that I do is have a meeting to learn about who the student is, why he or she is interested, and what the student hopes to gain from the class(es). From there, I let the student know how the class(es) will be conducted.

I have taught dance in rural, suburban, and urban studios and schools. The ages I have taught range from toddler/young childhood to early senior age adults.

Prepare for a fully transformative experience, do your research about the teacher, and trust the process!

On March 3, I co-taught a collaborative workshop class that involved tapping into, revealing, unleashing, and elevating one's divine feminine energy as an event celebrating the beginning of National Women's History Month. I enjoyed being involved in an event that encourages people--especially women who constantly deal with the intersections of their minority identities--to take a moment to reconnect with themselves and embrace all of what makes them divine.

TEACHING/CHOREOGRAPHY RATES:

- Solo/Duo Private Class (1-2 people): $75.00 per hour

- Small Group Private Class (3-5 people): $150.00 per hour

- Large Group Private Class (6-10 people): $300.00 per hour

- Company Group Class Rates (for groups larger than 10 participants): Rates are available upon request as they are based on group sizes and settings

- Performing/Visual Artist Choreography: Available upon request as rates vary depending on needs
