About Maureen
Calligraphy Crush offers workshops and classes for beginning calligraphers in the Houston area. We also publish a calligraphy magazine available in the Apple Store and on Google Play.
I started teaching 2 years ago.
I have been a professional wedding calligrapher for 20 years, and attend numerous conferences and workshops to continually improve my skills.

I will need to know level of experience, if he/she has taken calligraphy classes before, and what supplies they currently have.
Beginners
Ask to see samples of their work (you can find mine on Instagram @pendancestudio or @scriptstylist). Find out their availability in case you want to take a series of classes rather than just one introductory class.
I have been teaching brush lettering with markers at Berings Hardware Store in Houston. It's a 2-hour class and always sells out.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Am I willing to practice daily for at least 20 minutes per day?
Do I have a place in my home where I can keep my supplies set up to make it easier to practice?
What are my goals? To address wedding invitations, write cards to friends and family, start a calligraphy business, etc.
