About Jared
I've had the privilege of tutoring calculus for the past 4 years as an undergradute civil engineering student. During that time, I've worked with a variety of students, from high school students to college athletes. This wide range of clientele has equipped me with many techniques and stratgeies that make learning calculus a breeze. To many, calculus is an intimidating subject, but it doesn't have to be!
I got my first job tutoring for Auburn University's athletic department as a freshman in college. I tutored college algebra, precalculus, and calculus I.
I've taken calculus courses in high school and college and I tutored these courses during my time as an undergraduate student. I worked for Auburn University's athletic department and the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.

I like to get a sense of students' background in math when working with them for the first time. Knowing their specific strengths and weaknesses allows me to tailor my tutoring approach to what suits them best. Afterwards, l ask them to tell me about the current topic they are learning, specifically what they understand about the topic and what they don't. From there, I usually give a general overview that fills any gaps in knowlege the students may have and then work through a few example problems. Once I feel they have a solid grasp on the main concepts, I give them a chance to work a few problems without my input or assistance, which allows me to ascertain their understanding of the material.
I worked with high school students, college students, and college student-athletes.
