About Patricia

I believe every student can do it. No one should quit because they are "bad" at computers or "bad" at dance. Everything in life worth doing takes work and I'm willing to put it in with you.

The moment a concept clicks with a student. It is the best feeling ever.

I've always loved teaching. I started in my early 20's teaching for a High School summer program. It was an "IT" class. The class I deisgned was Introduction to Web design. I always belive in giving students a little history, so as part of the class we reviewed raw HTML and learned how to manipulate the tags directly. We moved onto Front Page and Dreamweaver shortly thereafter, but the first student revelation of "Wow, so that's what that means in my e-mail." made me so happy. At that point I was addicted to teaching.

I've taught dance for over 10 years. Performing both on stage as part of a troupe and as a duo at private shows. My students have ranged from very young girls to older women. I've even had a few men in my class. Contrary to popular belief, there is a subset of belly dance for men as well and it can be a very masculine dance.

I've tought Introduction to Office for over 2 years to students of varying skill levels at the college level. I have been working in the office and IT field for over 20 years and began instructing in my early 20's on an as requested basis.

About the lesson

I always like to access their current skill level and comfort level. I find often we have more skills than we know and actually feel comfortable with. Once we've done that and set goals for the lessons, I tailor each lesson to that particular student.

All types and skill sets.

Find someone you connect with that brings you up and not down. Although you might be frustrated with the actual topic at the time, you want a teacher that you feel has your back and believes in you. Find someone that can teach to you and your skill level.
