About Adam

I have been training kids ages 3 all the way through post-high school level for the 15 years. I have coached at the high school level and junior high level. Four years ago one of the AAU teams I coached won the national championship. I have been a personal trainer for years and run a yearly international basketball camp.

On a personal level, I am full-scholarship athlete and have played several seasons as a professional player.

I love seeing growth in my student atheletes. Taking a kid from struggling in an area to mastery. I love the entire process.

Working camps in college.

I have played at the college and professional level. I currently co-own a post-grad basketball academy in San Antonio, helping young men build their skills and confidence to assist them in gaining college scholarships.

About the lesson

I will assess their current level of fitness and basketball knowledge and work to push them to their highest potential. I will take them down to the basics and explain to them the fundamentals of the game. I will discuss their strengths and weaknesses and areas they want to improve.

Beginners all the way through professional athletes.

Make sure you are hiring someone with knowledge of the game and they are able to make a workout for YOU, not just a universal workout. You need a trainer that can assess where you are and work at building you up from the level you are currently.

Each student needs to think about what they are good at and what they need to work on before they meet with a trainer.

I think the only way you can know if a trainer/teacher is a right fit for you is go through a session and experience their training.

I have two boys who have been training with Coach Mason for two years now. My oldest was cut from his 8th grade team, but after training all last summer he made his high school team. My youngest played 7th grade basketball this year and his school coaches said he understood the game and where to be better, by far, than any other player in his team. I love how Coach not only trains them, but explains WHY they have to dribble or move, or shoot a certain way. He gives them a tool bag of skills for them to use and continue to grow. He also talks to them about them being a STUDENT athlete and how they have to excel in school or basketball doesn’t matter.

Lastly, I love how patient he is and how he encourages them through failure as well as success.
