Empowered Basketball was founded in 2008. It's mission statement is; To empower mentally and physicall each and every parent and athlete no matter their age or ability. Empowered Basketball has served over 2000 families across the country since 2008. Brian has over 30 years experience as a player , coach and trainer . Having played both at the high school level and collegiate levels he understands the commitment and demand.Brian has over 15 years of Boys and Girls coaching and is currently the head of player development for one of the Top 10 programs in the country, Mater Dei High Sdjool.He has trained with the beginner to the professional level types of player as well.

Brian works backwards with respect to training. He looks at your current state and matches that with your current goals and will walk your through step by step how those goals can be met. Having been a staple for many schools on the west coast the approach Brian takes is that of a coach rather than a trainer. He knows the demands that high school coaches need and want, and with Club coaching experience he can help you as a player and parent navigate thise treacherous waters.

I thoroughly enjoy watching my athletes work through their struggles only to come out in the other side more confident and prepared , not merely for the game of basketball but for when basketball is done with and they become adults. Watching confidence grow in an athlete is probably my favorite part of the process!

I was teaching in a special education class whil simultaneously coaching collegiate level basketball when I was approached i the summer about leading a camp. From there I met a few individuals who were in the training business and I became intrigued on how I could help reach many more kids reach their highest potential outside of my own program.

10 years NCAA Div 1, 2, 3 , NAIA Team Development, Player Development and Consultant.

HC for 2x AAU National Champions

Currently Lead Player Development Coach for Perennial Power House Mater Dei High School.

About the lesson

The first session is always an assessment session. The first 15 minutes will always follow a protocol to see what an athlete can and cannot do. After those 15 minutes will begin to set a baseline that a student will need to meet in order to help him/her reach their first goal we set. Each Assessment Session is followed by a 15 min outs recap with the parent and student to ensure that the athlete can go home and complete the homework on his or her own.

I have worked with beginners to the professional .I have worked with children with special needs as well and non English speaking groups throughout the world. My spectrum is very broad but using the language of basketball always has brought joy into peoples lives!
