About Arron
I am a coach first and foremost so for the most part i know what coaches on different levels are looking for in tryouts and scouting. I take your childs flaws and make them into strengths make the well rounded players that can play anywhere. Plus a portion of the training session is based on learning common knowledge of the game of basketball.
I love working with the various kids i recieve. Being a coach at Langham Creek YMCA i get to alter a lot of kids futures with basketball. I love to hear from parents that after being under my tutelage their child made their first basketball team or was able to play aau basketball or just became better players with hopes of going to college. I love everything about this game good and bad. Hoops is more than a sport its a lifestyle and possibly a life changing event waiting to happen.
I coached 11 seasons at ymca where i went from little known to the most highly requested coach.
I have gotten 29 boys and 3 girls onto their schools team for the first time in their lives that i can verify.
I have gotten 22 boys and 2 girls into AAU Basketball that i can verify.
I have coached and trained over 200 kids within the parameters of ymca rules which only gives a 1 hour practice once a week for 8-9 weeks.
Within those 11 seasons i have had 13 undeafeted seasons coaching a team for high schoolers and a mainly middle school squads.
I have had girls come and play on my boys teams and were better when we were done with the season. Played and trained just as hard as the boys and in return all girls i have ever had plays for a school.
I help these kids out by breaking them down to the most primitive aspect of themselves...i.e. If they are shy i will try to get them to open up or simple corrections such as form and foot placement.
I can teach anything in the sport but i specialze in defense because i know as long as a player can play elite defense they have a spot for them on somebodys court.
The 2 hours you pay for will cover parts of what the player wants to change and parts of what i see in the player and common knowledge of the game in total...
The player will learn how to create space on-off ball, how to defend in a team capacity and individual capacity, improve ball handling, and any other techniques that are needed.
I want my trainings to feel like a school so i would love to retain as many kids as possible to train every week and proudly showcase the development from beginning to end.
At the time i would rather meet at gym or basketball court need the players im training with the hopes of having enough kids to keep them playing om hardwood courts as much as possible.
Of course if you need more information please feel free to contact me anytime...
Thank you for your time.
Honestly i was hit by a car in high school that effectively ended my baseball and basketball career. I gained a surplus of knowledge from this sport and a conscious of relatable consequences that were held the same in life as in sports...i wanted a chance to give back and my wife said you love the game why dont you try to teach some kids how to play better. I followed her words and started finding kids at parks i could train even if for just 30 minutes. After the experience i started coaching at ymca.
11 season langham creek ymca coaching 2 teams simultaneously 10 players per team.
Played basketball from 3rd grade to my junior year of high school. Walked on at my college.

I usually like to see the player play rather its in a team setting or playing against me. It gives me a better feel for the players needs and wants.
I have worked with all types of students. Boy/(concealed information) played before/high schoolers heading towards college...also have worked with special needs kids in baseball and basketball.
I would tell them always know exactly what you want and need from a person. And that coachability is a trait worth its weight in gold. Anything you want to do in life you can do as long as put your mind, heart and soul into it and follow that with the work...Hardwork=Pain=Success..
I was able to get Langham Creek YMCA to host a basketball tournament at the end of the season something that happened before. To see the difference in those kids having even a small reward to fight for made me feel great. Everything that basketball was about. Each game just pure excitement and intense competition all around it was beautiful.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What reason am i doing this for? Where you have been and where you trying to go? If you cant answer that question do some soul searching and try again..

Coach Jones is passionate about the game of basketball. He was instrumental with instilling the fundamentals of the game in my son. To this day' my son still calls on Coach Jones when he needs to conditioning and technique pointers.
My son can be rather shy, but Coach Jones found a way to connect with him. He likes how patient coach is and the way he explains the game. He encourages the players to take chances and not to be too hard on themselves if & when they make mistakes. He meets the player where they are with their skillset and builds from there.
I think kids like his style because he's laid back but gets things done. He makes learning fun even if you're new to the game.See more recommendations

I charge $25 per hour and try to do sessions that are set for 2 hours. Will work with parents if they decide to have me as their kids' personal trainer more regularly.
