About Al

My passion is giving back to my community and working with the children, our future, gives me an opportunity to do for them what my coaches and mentors did for me as a child. they gave me a place to come and forget about anything negative in my life for at least a couple of hours a day. Sports was kind of my safe haven. It also prepared me for life by teaching me how to be a team player, hard worker, and never give up on myself. We take pride in the basketball training we provide but even more so on the mentorship and relationships that we've built over the past 16 years. Our Goal is "No Player Left Behind", If a child has the desire to be better and the heart to stick to it, we'll give them 110% effort in making them a better athlete and person.

It has always been my passion to teach, coach, and mentor, people from all walks of life. Basketball was one of the sports that afforded me the opportunity to be a part of a team. Training the youth to play basketball gives me a chance to continue doing what I'm most passionate about, which is to teach, mentor, and coach people how to be an important player on a team, regardless of if it's a basketball team or a team player at work.

Coach Taft is amazing with pushing the children to learn what their skill levels are. He not only teaches them basketball, but life lessons as well. He is a motivator and a friend. From day one, you are like family. I know that my son drastically improved his game just after one season with the Elite family. He knew that going to practice was going to be hard work, but at the end of the day was able to recognize where he has improved and said he had FUN. Fun..that is so important to all sports. You must be a part of an organization that keeps the fun in it, but still strives to be successful. Coach Taft has done just that with the Kentucky Elite! I look forward to many more!
