About Rick

My goal is to help kids that want to get better at the sport they love and prepare them for the next level whatever that may be. To pass my passion for the game on to them and show them how baseball is like life experiences and how to handle those situations.

Baseball playing experience includes high school & college.

My coaching experience includesmany years at the youth level T-Ball through 14U as well as some college level coaching.

I now coach a Rawlings Tigers national prep team based in Chickasha, Ok. And run my own baseball tournament hosting company.

I enjoy keeping up with the kids I coached and trained over the years grow into young men and compete at different levels. I enjoy seeing them go through their life and become productive citizens in their community.

I got started teaching players the game of baseball after I was injured and unable to play anymore in college.

I have trained with coaches from all different levels of baseball since 1992 like Gary Ward and Tom Holliday at Oklahoma State. Constantly studying videos and articles to improve myself as an instructor.

About the lesson

For younger students, first couple workouts would be getting to know the student and gauge a skill level while doing basic skills workouts.

Older players we will dive right into what it is player needs to work

on and I see where player needs to be tweaked and what needs work.

I have worked with beginner players from different ages to major level players and college level players.

Look for a coach you can relate to and enjoy being around and one that teaches something you can buy into.

Coaching a 1st year 9u team to finish 3rd in the state power rankings and 27th nationally in USSSA

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What specific thing do they want to improve.

what goals do they want to reach in what time frame.

how hard do they want to work.
