About Karina
Hello!
I was born into a deaf family and raised only using American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate to the adults around me. I took 6 classes at a local college and passed with A's in each class. I have a passion for ASL and I am currently continuing my education to become an ASL interpreter. I have two children of my own and their first language was ASL as well, i found it helped with frustrations of not being able to form words.
My colleague mentioned she thought I had the patients and personality to teach people of all ages a language I love and know so well. From then on I've loved having the interaction and seeing how far someone comes.
I have been an ASL tutor since I completed the highest level of ASL at a local college, I went to Italy and taught ASL on base for a few months and loved that!
