About Ms
Privately tutoring to any student who wants to learn American sign language (ASL) in order to communicate with deaf, hard of hearing, and non-spoken people and children. Teaching all the levels of ASL, Deaf history, and culture. Helping beginner interpreters to prepare for both national and state interpreting certificates. And also, teaching moms with infants who want to learn to interact with babies by teaching the basics of sign language while infants start learning to speak.
Teaching people to enjoy learning ASL in fun lessons is my passion for many years! I am patient with students who struggle with their ASL classes at school and need extra help so I am here to help! Some private or small colleges offer ASL online classes that required for students to learn how to glossing (writing ASL sentence in which is not in English grammar structure). These courses are heavily on videos and glossing writing structure and quizzes and finals. I have noticed that many students who have taken these ASL online courses and were very frustrated with the complicated and confused assignments and they ended up failing or passing with D grades. Best learning ASL is in a classroom with a teacher is present. Zoom or Skype is also great working for tutoring students meanwhile emailing lessons to students. I encourage students to join Silent dinners, attend Deaf events, and possibly Deaf Meetups.
