About Cameron

I only charge $30 a session for an hour and a half. I have tutored 15 high school students. My average increase in score is 6-8 points. 13 of my 15 students ended with a score of 30 or higher. My former students have gotten accepted into schools that include Yale, West Point, Ohio State, and Georgetown University.

I graduated from Saint Ignatius High School and am currently pursuing a double major in Economics and Psychology from Kenyon College, a liberal arts institution. Kenyon was ranked as the number one college in Ohio by Forbes, Wall Street Journal, and US News and World Report for the past 10 years.

My love for tutoring stems from my love for helping a student get accepted into his/her dream school, receive a scholarship, or both!

I first started tutoring for the ACT with my friend from high school. He was recruited by Yale University to play football, but his ACT score was 7 points below what the coach needed. Because other tutors were too costly, he asked me to tutor him. After a month and a half of tutoring, he was able to receive a score 3 points higher than what the coach asked with a 10 point improvement.

I was tutored for the ACT myself for a year and have seen all the possible practice books and strategies that allowed me to score a near perfect score. I graduated from Saint Ignatius High School with a 4.0 in all honors and am currently a freshman at Kenyon College planning on double majoring in Economics and Psychology.

About the lesson

When I first start tutoring a student, I begin by giving them a full length practice test that provides solid information for what the student needs to improve on in each section. After the practice test, I start the tutoring sessions by going one section at a time. By going one section at a time, the student is able to solely focus in on that section without having to worry of others. We focus on one section until they have seen every possible type of question for the section and understand how to approach the section under timed conditions.

Details

I intend to tutor students 2 to 3 times per week for an hour and a half. In each session, we will solely focus on one section. The hour and a half gives us enough time to focus on the section where the student can remained focus and work hard.
