About Alexander

I am a highly motivated and passionate music teacher with 10+ years of experience, specialising in classroom music and Bass/Guitar lessons.

Having completed my Masters of Education at the University of Melbourne in 2016, I am highly qualified to teach both practical music and music theory, and my qualifications extend to teaching senior students. I provide students with every opportunity to achieve their full potential.

I have a strong belief in developing individuals in an environment that challenges and drives students to expect more from themselves. I believe that music idiom strongly lends itself to creativity and offers a platform in which students can exercise their originality and innovativeness.

Through my teaching I hope to encourage students to follow their passions and provide them with the knowledge and skills that will aid them throughout their lives.

I have been playing music since the age of four, and it was in high school where I reached a point in my life where I realised there is nothing else I would rather do than commit my life to learning and teaching music. I want to be able to pass on my passion and knowledge that I have gathered throughout the years and pass them on to students who wish to play music either at a professional level or for pleasure in life.

Although I undertook my studies in electric and double bass, I also have a comprehensive understanding, and am able to teach both piano and guitar. Additionally, I have extensive experience working in a range of ensembles from Balkan choirs and African percussion to contemporary rock and pop groups, both as a performer and a conductor.

I believe the skills and knowledge I have obtained through my professional music career and studies are a valuable asset to all my students.
