About James

Greetings accounting students!

Before outlining my qualifications and work experience I'd like to emphasize that the field of accounting/auditing can be a fantastic area to work in. There is constant demand for accounting professionals and many different niches to work within (mine being real estate). My career path started in the auditing field and has transitioned to property accounting. In regard to tutoring, my undergraduate degree is in education and I have previous work experience tutoring privately and for Hungtington Learning Center. - Earned Graduate Degree in Accounting

- Over 6 years work experience (primarily in property accounting).

- Undergraduate degree in English Education

My undergraduate degree is in English Education and I spent time student teaching, working as a private tutor, and as an employee for Hungtington Learning Center as an SAT prep tutor.

About the lesson

1. Assess students overall knowledge and interests through discussion.

2. Determine what learning methods work best for each student.

3. Begin review, teaching, and discussion of learning material.

4. Test student's knowledge and understanding of material.

5. Continually assess student's understanding and retention of material outside of testing.

I have worked with high school and college level students.

I would advise them to find someone that has a solid educational and practical background. The teacher then has the ability to give a truly in depth explanation of how a concept works and its application in the real world.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. What is the overall / big picture lesson being taught?

2. Do I truly understand the basic concepts that were taught in class?

3. What specific questions would help me better understand the material?

4. Do I understand how concepts are building upon one another?
