About Kate
I always wanted to be a teacher. When I was a small child, I remember helping another child to learn a melody on their recorder. I felt a profound sense of satisfaction when the idea 'clicked' and a light sparked in this child's eyes. I knew then that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I am a qualified UK teacher and subject leader with an English degree, PGCE with QTS, and I am currently completing a Master’s in Education. I have several years of classroom experience across Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, alongside extensive 1:1 tutoring experience for students aged 5–16.
I specialise in KS2 SATs preparation and GCSE English Language and Literature, supporting students to develop both confidence and exam technique. I have successfully supported learners through SATs, 11+ preparation, and GCSE exams.
My teaching is informed by current educational research and focuses on breaking learning into clear, structured steps. I prioritise retrieval practice, modelling, and guided application before independent work, ensuring students understand both the content and how to apply it under exam conditions.
I also have significant experience working with SEND and neurodiverse learners, and I adapt lessons carefully to individual needs. I aim to create a calm, structured learning environment where students feel supported and able to succeed.
