About Natalie
Hello, I’m Natalie, a South African teacher based in Nigel. I spent six years teaching in Thailand, working with children from different cultures and language backgrounds. My experience includes serving as a head teacher in alternative schools and teaching English, Maths, Science and Social Studies.
I hold a degree in Education focused on Early Childhood Development and a 150-hour TEFL qualification. I also develop illustrated workbooks, learning activities and teaching resources through my educational brand, Hunter’s Par Excellence.
Teaching is work I care deeply about. One of my favourite moments is seeing a child who has been struggling suddenly understand something and feel proud of themselves. I want children to feel comfortable asking questions and confident enough to have another go when something is difficult.
I see myself as a mentor as well as a teacher. I bring patience, structure and encouragement to my work, while making room for each child’s personality and curiosity. My goal is to help learners build skills and confidence they can carry into the classroom and everyday life.

My lessons give children space to ask questions, make mistakes and try again. I combine patient, clear explanations with stories, games and practical activities to help learning make sense.
I offer English, Maths, reading and writing support, homework guidance and exam preparation for primary school learners. I also welcome beginners learning English as an additional language. I am fluent in English and Afrikaans and can explain concepts in either language.
A typical lesson begins with a short activity to build confidence, followed by focused teaching, guided practice and an opportunity to work independently. I adjust the pace to the learner’s understanding, giving extra support where needed and a little more challenge when they are ready.
I create my own illustrated learning resources and use children’s interests to make lessons engaging. My aim is to help each learner develop understanding, curiosity and the confidence to keep trying.
Lessons are available online and in person in Nigel, with individual attention and encouragement throughout.
