It is my pleasure to recommend Jerzy Lubiński as a language teacher. I have been studying languages for decades and I speak several, and I can truly say I have never had as good a teacher as Jerzy.

First, he understands language and language learning incredibly deeply. He always figures out creative ways to get me to understand something rather than just giving me the answer. Jerzy understands the science of habit formation and puts mechanisms in place to make my studying a success. It helps that he himself is an avid student of foreign languages; he can easily place himself in the shoes of the student.

Second, though he has been teaching me Polish, the fact that he knows English so well (sometimes I think he knows it better than me and I am a native speaker!) means he understand why I am having trouble with a certain structure or concept, and thus can help me untangle it in my mind.

Third, Jerzy is great at improvising. If I come to him with something I need to write or read, even if it wasn’t on his radar screen he is able to pivot and figure out a creative way to incorporate it into the lesson.

Lastly, the lessons are just plain fun. I started studying with Jerzy during the pandemic and, except for a few breaks for vacation, we have been meeting twice a week for over three years. I look forward to our lessons. I always feel like he is truly happy for my accomplishments, whether it’s remembering a word or grasping a complicated grammatical concept.

I highly recommend Jerzy as a language teacher in any setting. He’s smart as a whip and is invested in his students. You will be lucky to have him.
