About Keamba

I am an experienced substitute teacher with a strong commitment to helping students build confidence and succeed academically. I provide structured, patient, and supportive tutoring tailored to each student’s learning style and goals. With a background in philosophy, I help students strengthen their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while also improving their ability to understand and apply new concepts. I approach every session with professionalism, clear communication, and respect for each student’s individual learning process.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is student-centered and focused on building both understanding and confidence. I believe students learn best when lessons are clear, structured, and connected to how they naturally think through problems. I break complex ideas into smaller steps and encourage students to explain concepts in their own words so they develop real comprehension rather than memorization.

My teaching method combines explanation, guided practice, and independent application. First, I identify where the student is struggling and clarify the underlying concept. Then we work through examples together, gradually shifting toward the student solving problems independently while I provide feedback and support. I also emphasize critical thinking and reasoning so students can apply what they learn to new situations.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material and any questions the student has. We then focus on one or two key concepts, work through examples, and practice applying the concept through exercises or discussion. I end sessions by summarizing the main idea and giving the student strategies they can use when working on their own.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my background in philosophy, which allows me to help students strengthen their reasoning, writing, and analytical skills in addition to mastering the subject material. I focus on helping students understand why something works, not just how to complete an assignment.

My lessons are suitable for elementary through high school students who need help with reading comprehension, writing, homework support, study skills, and developing stronger critical thinking. I also work well with students who need a patient, supportive environment to build confidence in their abilities.
