About Sebastien
Hi!
My name is Sebastien Bassant and I am a student designer currently in my second year of the BA 'Industrial Design and Technology' course at Brunel University London.
Despite only being an undergraduate student, I have had the chance to teach students in a range of contexts over the past four years. From acting as tutor for younger GCSE pupils in a local school organisation, to providing weekly drumming lessons for students in middle school years.
Of course, as a prospect industry designer, I strive to set myself in environments of constructive creativity. As such goes I am currently the sketching tutor for the university-based design society, where I guide and assist first year students with practical applications of free-hand sketching, perspective sketching, marker rendering, idea generation and Adobe software's.
Teaching students has been a real passion of mine! Such is why I hope to continue doing such on this platform.

As a prospect designer, I am able to assist students with a range of digital and practical based skills.
From the very creative techniques related to product design sketching (free-hand sketching, perspective sketching, marker rendering, digital sketching, concept generation and general visual form communication) to the development of three-dimensional or two-dimensional designs (Computer-aided design such as Solidworks, Solidworks Visualize and Fusion 360 as well as the Adobe Softwares).
Able to offer more theoretical-based lessons, with curriculum's from GCSE/A-Level/International Baccalaureate/BTech/University First Year educative programs. Other design related themes required by a student, upon request, can also be taught.
Lessons provided will be very much student-driven, with focus on what topics or skills the student would like to learn. As an individual and as a student designer, I believe that my teaching embraces both creative and logical grounds. As the creative understanding of a subject should always be accompanied by an appraisal of the purpose and the technical reasoning.
As always, I am very flexible to work around what the students desires to learn. In the end, there is always something new to be learnt.
