About Jake
My passion for sport began when I was a BTEC Sport student myself. Studying Sport Science inspired me to develop a deeper understanding of performance, fitness, coaching, and exercise, while also showing me the positive impact that education can have on an individual's future. This experience motivated me to continue my studies, progressing to a BSc (Hons) in Sport Coaching, followed by an MSc in Sport and Exercise and a PGCE in Education and Training.
Having experienced vocational education first-hand, I understand the challenges students face and the support they need to succeed. This has helped shape my teaching approach over the past 8 years as a Sport and Uniformed Protective Services lecturer. I am passionate about helping students achieve their goals, whether that is improving grades, progressing to university, or pursuing careers within sport, fitness, coaching, or the public services. My aim is to make learning engaging, relatable, and inspiring by linking theory to real-world practice and helping students build confidence in their abilities.
