About Courtney
I am a vocal tutor with 7 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Voice Emphasis. I enjoy helping students build strong singing skills in a friendly and supportive environment. My lessons are designed around each student's goals, interests, and learning style.
I teach a wide range of music styles because exploring different genres helps students become flexible and confident singers. Along with vocal training, I focus on ear training, harmony, improvisation, and music theory to build complete musicianship. I believe these skills help students become independent performers instead of simply memorizing songs.
One student discovered a love for jazz after starting with pop songs, while another gained confidence for school performances through regular vocal practice. Moments like these remind me that every singer grows in their own way. I encourage students to ask questions, try new ideas, and enjoy the learning process.
My aim is to strengthen every voice while helping students express themselves with confidence and creativity. I celebrate small improvements because they often lead to lasting progress over time. Whether you are learning for fun, preparing for performances, or improving your technique, I will support you at every step. Together, we will build skills that make singing both rewarding and enjoyable.

Every student has a different voice, so I begin by understanding your goals, favorite songs, and current ability. Adult beginners learn through simple vocal exercises that build confidence without feeling overwhelming. Advanced teens work on refining their vocal identity while expanding their creative expression.
We spend time shaping vocal tone so your voice sounds natural instead of copied from another singer. I also teach song interpretation because understanding the meaning behind the lyrics helps every performance feel more genuine. I often share examples from well known songs to show how small changes in expression can completely change a performance.
Genre exploration is a regular part of my lessons because trying pop, jazz, rock, musical theatre, or acoustic styles helps students discover what suits them best. Improvisation activities encourage creativity and make singing feel more personal. Many students are surprised to find confidence after experimenting with styles they had never considered before.
Lessons include lyric analysis sheets, vocal journals, melody trainers, and DAWs to support steady progress. These tools help students track improvements, understand their strengths, and practice more effectively at home. My goal is to help every learner develop a confident voice that feels authentic and enjoyable to use.
