About Maham
My after school tutoring and homework support sessions are designed to be warm, structured, and tailored to each child’s individual needs. I begin every relationship by understanding the child, their current level, their interests, their learning style, and what makes them feel safe and motivated. From there, I build sessions that support both academic progress and confidence.
My approach includes:
Homework help across all core subjects for primary-age children: English, Maths, Science, and topic-based work
Foundational literacy including phonics, guided reading, spelling, and early writing
Foundational numeracy including counting, place value, times tables, mental maths, and problem-solving
Early Years learning through play-based, sensory, and hands-on activities tailored to EYFS developmental milestones
Support for children with SEN including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language needs using visual supports, sensory breaks, and adapted materials as needed
Preparation for school transitions such as Reception, KS1, and KS2
My teaching draws on my neuroscience background. I understand how different children learn, and I adapt my pace, tone, and materials to match each learner’s needs. I use structured routines, positive reinforcement, and calm, encouraging communication throughout every lesson.
Typical lesson length: 45 to 60 minutes for primary age children, and 30 minutes for Early Years learners where shorter, focused sessions are more effective.
Lessons are available online or in person. Package rates are available for families committing to weekly sessions.

Current SEN Specialist Outreach Tutor, supporting autistic and SEN children aged 4-6
Former SEN Teaching Assistant in a specialist school setting
Enhanced DBS and Level 3 Safeguarding certified

I am a passionate tutor with a deep commitment to supporting children in their learning journey, from Early Years through to Key Stage 2 and beyond. My background combines academic study and hands-on teaching experience. I hold an MSc in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience from Anglia Ruskin University and a BS in Applied Psychology, and I have several years of practical experience working with children of all ages and abilities.
I currently work as a SEN Specialist Outreach Tutor supporting autistic children and pupils with complex learning and communication needs on a 1:1 basis. Before this, I worked as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a specialist school setting, and I have extensive private tutoring experience supporting children with homework, foundational literacy and numeracy, phonics, reading, and confidence-building across primary years.
What I bring to every child I work with is patience, warmth, and a genuine belief that every learner can thrive with the right support. I understand that after school can be a tiring part of the day for children, so I create lessons that feel positive and engaging rather than pressured. I hold an Enhanced DBS check and Level 3 Safeguarding certification, and I take pride in being punctual, professional, and reliable. Parents can trust that their child is in safe, capable hands.
My aim is to help every child feel confident, supported, and genuinely proud of what they can achieve.
