About Cara
I am a qualified primary school teacher with over 10 years of classroom experience supporting students in literacy and numeracy. I am passionate about helping children build strong academic foundations while also developing confidence in their learning.
Throughout my career, I have worked with students of varying abilities and learning needs, using clear instruction, targeted feedback and supportive guidance to help them make meaningful progress.
I aim to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing skills and growing in confidence.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual learning needs, goals and current level of understanding. I begin by identifying areas of strength and areas where additional support may be beneficial, allowing me to design lessons that are both targeted and engaging.
Sessions focus on building deep understanding, confidence and independence in learning rather than simply completing worksheets. I use a range of evidence-based teaching strategies, including explicit instruction, guided practice, feedback and reflection, to ensure students make meaningful progress.
During lessons students may work on:
• Reading fluency and comprehension strategies
• Writing structure, grammar and vocabulary development
• Math problem-solving and number understanding
• Homework support and preparation for school assessments
I also incorporate goal setting and progress tracking, helping students see their improvement over time and develop a positive mindset toward learning.
My teaching style is patient, supportive and structured, creating a safe environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks.
Lessons can be delivered online or in person, depending on location and availability.
