About Mikkel

Hello! My name is Mikkel. I am 20 years old and have worked with programming since elementary school. I have always had a passion for programming and teaching. For someone who is new to programming, it can be difficult to familiarize yourself with the more complex languages. This is certainly the experience I had - and I didn't have anyone at my school who I could ask for help. That's why I feel it's important to be able to offer the help I didn't have the opportunity to get. In addition to this post, I am also chairman of Coding Pirates Odense, and I have taught Unity and Scratch at schools.

About the lesson

I am a big supporter of the "Learning by doing" learning method. Therefore, the teaching will consist of projects and ideas that the student has come up with themselves. This creates a greater interest in the teaching, as well as helping to train problem solving and a different way of thinking. The most important thing about learning programming is to be able to maintain the spirit. Code can be written in many ways, some more complex than others, but being able to maintain interest while stuck on a problem is the most difficult challenge. Therefore, it can help to personalize the project so that you have a desire and interest in being able to overcome the problem. With that said, there is no set way to learn programming. All people learn differently, which is why it is important to adapt the teaching to the individual student. Furthermore, it is also important to take things one step at a time. Therefore, I will try to guide and limit the student's project(s) so that it does not become too overwhelming.
