About Beverly

With 3 years of experience as a piano tutor, I am passionate about helping students unlock their musical potential through personalized lessons in both classical and jazz music. My journey in music has been driven by a deep love for the piano and a commitment to teaching, which allows me to offer a well-rounded and engaging approach to piano education. I aim to create a supportive environment where students of all ages and skill levels feel inspired and motivated.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes a balance between technical proficiency and musical expression. I believe in building a strong foundation with fundamental skills such as finger technique, sight-reading, and rhythm. For more advanced students, I focus on refining these skills through complex compositions and exploring various genres. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, I tailor my lessons to suit your individual needs and interests, ensuring that each session is both challenging and rewarding.

In addition to technical training, I incorporate elements of musicality and creativity into each lesson. For classical students, this means working on dynamics, phrasing, and interpretation. For jazz students, we explore improvisation, chord progressions, and rhythmic variations. This approach not only improves your playing but also helps you connect with the music on a deeper level, fostering a greater appreciation for the art form.

My goal is to make each lesson an enjoyable and productive experience, providing you with the tools and confidence needed to succeed. I am dedicated to supporting you throughout your musical journey, whether you are preparing for a performance, working on a specific piece, or simply enjoying the process of learning. With a focus on personalized instruction and a passion for music, I look forward to helping you achieve your piano-playing goals.

Piano lessons with an experienced tutor are designed to provide a tailored and engaging learning experience for students of all ages and skill levels. With 3 years of teaching experience, I offer personalized instruction that balances classical techniques with jazz improvisation. Each lesson is crafted to meet your unique needs and goals, ensuring a comprehensive approach to piano education.

For beginners, we start with the basics, including proper finger placement, reading music, and understanding rhythm. These foundational skills are crucial for building confidence and technical proficiency. As students progress, we explore more advanced techniques and pieces, integrating both classical compositions and jazz standards to keep the learning process dynamic and enjoyable.

In addition to technical training, I emphasize the importance of musical expression and creativity. Classical lessons focus on interpretation, dynamics, and phrasing, while jazz lessons introduce improvisation, chord progressions, and rhythmic variations. This balanced approach helps students develop not only their technical skills but also their ability to convey emotion and personal style through their playing.

Each lesson is designed to be both educational and enjoyable, with a focus on creating a supportive and motivating environment. Whether you are preparing for a performance, working on a specific piece, or simply exploring the joy of playing the piano, my goal is to provide guidance and encouragement throughout your musical journey.
