About Kaitlyn
I am a practiced piano tutor with 8 years of experience teaching students across high school and college levels. "My teaching method for Piano, Music Theory, and Sight Reading reflects eight years of helping students build strong fundamentals through practiced, well-organized instruction.
Practice-driven habits shape how I plan lessons, moving students through clear stages from hand posture and finger exercises to note reading, rhythm, and eventually sight reading.
Adaptability is central to my teaching, since students learn differently, so I adjust demonstration, repetition, and theory explanation depending on what helps each learner most.
Encouragement stays present throughout every session, since celebrating steady improvement keeps students motivated through more demanding technical stages.
Lessons typically begin with hand posture and finger exercises, followed by note reading and rhythm practice, with music theory basics like scales and chords introduced early.
As students advance, I add sight reading and ear training to strengthen musicianship, along with expression and performance confidence for those preparing for exams or recitals.
I tailor my teaching to each student's personal goals, whether learning for enjoyment, exam preparation, or advanced musical pursuit. My aim is a practiced, adaptable space where every student grows with confidence."
